AIM
This course follows on from a 'taste' of creative floral design and will advance the construction techniques needed to make various styles of bouquets as well as how to arrange contemporary style flowers. We continue to advise you on how to care and condition your flowers and foliage's and which ones to choose for the best results. Training is conducted by skilled lecturers from the floristry industry.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Students who have completed 16 weeks of the introductory course and are interested in developing more practical skills training.

- Modern arrangement with a structure
- Modern strauss bouquet with armitage
- Object like design
- Modern vase arrangement
- Rolling techniques
- Vegetative design
OUTCOMES
General flower and plant identification and basic floristry construction techniques.
ASSESSMENT
There is no formal assessment for this course.
FURTHER TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Repeat Intermediate classes or continue to Certificate II in Floristry for industry training.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Prerequisite is A New Beginning in Floristry (Introductory) course or relevant industry experience
- Chinese/Mandarin-speaking classes available on Wednesday nights 6.30pm to 8.30pm with Lecturer, Clement Lee.
What to bring:
- Sundries:
You will need to bring a pen and paper, file, sharp scissors, sticky tape and towel. You will also need to think about compiling a toolbox that will consist of floristry specific items such as floristry snips, pliers, wires, etc. Your toolbox requirements can be gathered on an as-needs basis.
- Flowers:
We will supply you with flowers and foliage for the course. Cost of materials will be $30 per week. On your first week you will need to pay for 2 weeks, ensuring flowers are always paid in advance. $60 total.
- Terms and Conditions:
If you inform your lecturer of your absence on or before Monday prior to class, you can make up the class and your flower money will be reserved for your return. If you notify the lecturer any time prior to the day you may make up the class but unfortunately you will lose your flower money as flowers will already have been ordered. Should this happen you may make arrangements to collect your flowers from the campus. If you are absent from class and you do not inform the lecturer at all, you will forfeit the class and your flower money.
