This course is a specialised 2 day short course
designed to provide skills and knowledge with respect to the navigational
management of vessels over 3000GT. This course meets the requirements of STCW95
and is AMSA approved.

- Large vessel handling
- Passage planning

- Simulation work on vessel handling including turning, stopping, constant radius turns, interaction and berthing
- Simulation work on navigation under pilotage and collision avoidance in large vessels
- Complex traffic scenarios
- Plan and conduct a passage in confined waters

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Prerequisites:
- Applicants must hold an AMSA certificate of competency as Master <3000GT (MC2) or a Chief Mate <3000 GT (CM2), as holders of these AMSA certificates can only apply for Master and Chief Mate unlimited certificates on completion of this course, in accordance with MO3 Section 25.4.2.
- Applicants for this course must make application to AMSA for an assessment of their qualifying Sea service and then provide copy of same to the College, in accordance with MO3 Section 25.1.2.

- Minimum dress standards apply to campus attendance: ie closed in shoes
