GMDSS Revalidation

AIM
This course is structured on a combination of theory and practical exercises using both ‘live to air’ equipment and simulations. It is delivered by fully qualified & accredited lecturers with experience as deck officer or radio officer.

This course meets the requirements of STCW95 and is AMSA approved.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Permits persons who hold a GMDSS GOC, but do not satisfy AMSA’s revalidation requirement of 12 months of GMDSS equipment use in the last 5 years, to revalidate their GOC. If you have had 12 months use of GMDSS equipment in the last 5 years, please contact AMSA directly to discuss revalidating your GOC through them.

ASSESSMENT
Final written and practical examinations are conducted by Institute lecturers.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Prerequisite:

• Must hold a GMDSS GOC
• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Your position will not be confirmed until payment has been received.
• Course positions are limited. 100% attendance is required.
• Minimum dress standards apply to campus attendance: ie closed in shoes be worn ( no sandals, thongs or bare feet), neat casual attire. Shorts and t-shirts are acceptable.
