This course provides essential training for deck officers who have insufficient sea time in the last five (5) years to revalidate their Australian Certificate of Competency issued by AMSA (2nd Mates, Mates or Masters) as required by Marine Orders Part 3.
100% attendance is required.
This course meets the requirements of STCW95 and is AMSA approved.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Prerequisite:
- Australian STCW78 or 95 Certificate of Competency issued by AMSA.
Exemption Policy:
- This course is conducted in accordance with the requirements of Marine Orders Part 3.
- Prospective students are advised that, if they do not meet the sea service requirements for revalidation they must attend and participate in all sessions of the course.
- Certain skill sets maintained by employment/training in other marine areas may be accepted for consideration by AMSA:
- Students who have completed an appropriate AMSA approved Advanced Pilotage Course in the last 12 months are not required to attend Part B of training (Bridge Work). All requirements for revalidation must be completed within 12 months of application to AMSA.
- FPSO personnel with at least 12 months service on facilities in the last 5 years are not required to attend Part A of training (Cargo, Stability, Legislation and Safety training).
- Refer to Marine Qualifications section on AMSA website under “Revalidation” for other possible exemption options.
Any student believing they may have grounds for exemption for any component of the course, must have the exemption approved by AMSA prior to course commencement.
