The Certificate of Safety Training is an STCW95 AMSA (Australian Maritime Safety Authority) approved training course which qualifies holders of the certificate to work on vessels in Australian and International waters.
This course meets the requirements of STCW95 and is AMSA approved.

Those wanting to improve safety, or to work on vessels in Australian and International waters.
CONTENT
The Certificate of Safety Training is made up of (4) components. They are as follows:
- Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting
- Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities
- Personal Survival Techniques
- Elementary First Aid (equivalent to Senior First Aid)

Please Note:
- We conduct the first 3 units as part of our Certificate of Safety Training course.The First Aid component is not conducted here as part of this course. You will need to obtain a Senior First Aid qualification from an AMSA approved institution (eg St John's Ambulance, Red Cross), or attend one of the courses conducted separately through this college (Phone Meredith 9239 8008).
- Your position will not be confirmed until payment has been received.
- Course positions are limited. Practical component conducted at IFAP. 100% attendance is required.
- Minimum dress standards apply to campus and IFAP attendance: ie closed in shoes be worn ( no sandals, thongs or bare feet), neat casual attire.
- It is advisable that men be clean-shaven for the practical components conducted at IFAP. Facial hair can affect the sealing capability of the face mask for fire training
