HEATHCOTE ARTISTS' STUDIOS

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC EVERY SUNDAY 10am - 4pm

Meet the Artists, view the diverse range of their stunning artwork. There is also the opportunity to purchase a very unique piece, whether it be for yourself or a gift for someone special.

Studio 1 - Alex Maciver
"Formed of a language that is immediately & distinctively recognisable, my practice suggests itself as already existing in the everyday world"
Alex is a creative artist hailing from the United Kingdom, he uses a diverse array of mediums to express his messages through art. He creates installations, films, painting & sculptures that consider the complex relationships between art, architecture, city-building & human stories of time & place.

"I am constantly developing & challenging the creative by employing new ways of approaching materials & manifesting ideas," Alex says, "I do not limit myself to any specific medium & continue to challenge the materials within my practice."


Studio 2 - Nidia Hansen
Nidia is a Colombian-born contemporary artist who lives in Perth. Her modern paintings are inspired by her interest in organics, underwater life & metaphysics. She uses acrylics, oils, mixed media & organic materials. With her nature-based style Nidia reveals a passion & talent for the use of bold colours & balanced compositions where she focuses on simplicity but with great visual effect, creating unique works with a mystical air. Nidia is regularly included in local exhibitions & awards in 2008 she was a winner in the ‘Judges Choice’ category of the City of Swan Art Awards & a finalist in the ‘Emerging Artist Award’ for the City of South Perth Art Awards.


Studio 3 - Yvonne Thomson
“My goal is to keep learning & creating art that is different”
Yvonne is a self-taught artist, who uses all types of mediums & different subjects in her artworks. She likes to push the boundaries, not being afraid to experiment. Yvonne’s artistic achievements are many:

  • 1st Prize Award – Kelvin Grove Art Gallery, Scotland

Studio 4 - Diana Creedy
Diana is a local artist & the newest member to the studio team at Heathcote. She has mainly used oils, but has also utilised watercolours & acrylic paints in some of her pieces. Diana is also accomplished in drawing & has undertaken several unique artworks using this medium.


Studio 5 - Melville Community Arts Association (MCAA)
The Melville Community Arts Association is a vibrant group of highly accomplished artists. Each week the studio will display ongoing as well as new originals and prints. A variety of artists, from contemporary to realist, will be demonstrating their work.


Studio 6 - Victor Yong
One of Perth’s leading graphic artists offers a large range of artwork to suit all. Victor's use of digital photography explores both the creative side of artistic photographs as well as the more traditional.

Victor is also highly sought after as a professional photographer, renowned for his action shots he has worked on the Hopman Cup & other National tennis tournaments; numerous Sailing Championships; Rally Australia; international fashion & model shows both locally & overseas to name a few.
