AIM
To provide the participants with the knowledge and skill to conduct in-service safety inspections and testing of single and three phase portable electrical and portable RCD equipment used onsite at residential, commercial and private businesses.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Single phase testing and tagging up to 250 volts must be completed before
enrolling to complete any three phase testing and tagging equipment and
plug repairing up to 1000 volts.
CONTENT
Single and Three Phase Testing and Tagging of Portable Appliances (PAT) Course
This course will provide the participants with the knowledge and skill to conduct in-service safety inspections and testing of single phase portable
electrical equipment used on site of the organisation to comply with AS/NZS 3012:2003.
Testing and Tagging of Portable Residual Current Devices (RCD) Course
This
course will provide the participants with the knowledge and skill to conduct
in-service safety inspections and testing of portable residual current devices,
their construction, operation and performance characteristics used on site of
the organisation to comply with as/nZs 3012:2003.
Repairing Plugs to 250 Volts and 1000 Volts
This course will provide the
participants with the knowledge and skill required to replace low voltage plugs
to 250v or 1000 volts.
OUTCOMES
Certificate of Attainment for Australian Standards Competency Based Training
in Self Improvement.
AS/NZ 3760:2001, WA Occupational Safety and Health Regulations 1996 and
WA Electricity (Licensing) Regulations 1991.
ASSESSMENT
Practical assessment and theory test.
FURTHER TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Currently there are no higher-level short courses in this area to progress towards.
