If you hold a recognised trade certificate in the trades of electrical mechanics or electrical fitting, the Electrical Trade Licensing course will provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to gain entry into the Western Australian electrotechnology industry.
TARGET AUDIENCE
All applicants must apply to the Wa electrical licensing regulator, Energy Safety, for permission to enrol in this course and present their approval letter. applicants must have written and spoken English competency.
CONTENT
The course is divided into two distinct units of competency:
- Design and install low voltage electrical wiring. this unit covers the design and installation of low voltage electrical wiring in domestic premises including wiring enclosures, cable support systems, cables and accessories. Students will learn how to work safely, terminate cables and connect wiring at accessories to installation standards.
- Inspect and test electrical wiring and equipment. This unit covers
inspection and testing to verify an electrical installation and equipment is
safe and complies with all requirements. It encompasses working safely,
visual inspections, test procedures and mandatory reporting requirements.
