Finding a Course
There are a number of ways you can study at Challenger Institute of Technology:
Full-time courses
Click on this link to be forwarded to our A-Z full-time course index.
Full-time study at Challenger Institute normally requires attending classes 17 to 20 hours a week although this can vary. For the purposes of obtaining Youth Allowance, full-time study means that you are doing at least 75% of the full-time workload of the course or if you are attending a minimum of 15 hours a weeks of face-to-face study.
Most applications for full-time study are processed through TAFE Admissions however there are some courses that require students to apply locally at a Challenger Institute campus (for example, Skipper's Ticket at our Maritime campus).
TAFE Admissions applications can be made on-line or by completing a TAFE Admissions form. Application forms are available at any Challenger Institute course information counter. Click on the Campus Location link to find the nearest campus to you.
If you were successful in your application and have been made an offer by TAFE Admissions, you may accept your offer on-line by clicking to our on-line enrolments link to proceed with your enrolment. Alternatively, click on this enrolment link to read about other enrolment options available to you.
If you missed the closing date for late applications, you can
click on this link to view courses which may still have vacancies.
You may be able to submit a 'safety-net' application for these vacancies. Please contact the Challenger Institute course information centre on (08) 9239 8189 for more information, alternatively many courses are offered on a part-time basis.

Enrolments for part-time study for Semester 2 will continue until either the course is full or has commenced. Call us to check if there are any pre-requisites, folios, interviews or other special entrance requirements for your course.
On enrolment day, make sure you take all documents relevant to your academic achievements and work history and check course commencement dates.
You need to pay all costs associated with your course at the time of enrolment. Payment by instalment plans is only available to those people who can provide proof of concession or hardship.
Studying in your own time and at your own pace (flexible learning) enables students to study at their leisure with face to face access to a lecturer at designated times. Enrolments for flexible delivery can take place at any time during the Semester. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Have you already got some of the skills and knowledge related to the course you’re interested in?
Recognition of Prior Learning involves an assessment by a registered training organisation to see if your skills and knowledge meet today’s industry standards. It doesn’t matter how, when or where the learning occurred, the assessment will take into account your current skill levels and how much you already know. This means that based on RPL or skills recognition, you do not have to re-learn what you already know, and you will find out exactly what training you have to do to achieve your qualification.
To find out more, contact the Challenger Career Development Centre on (08) 9239 8066 or a Career Development Adviser on (08) 9239 8066.
