Links with Industry
The Centre leads the way in the provision of specialist primary industries training.
Most training is conducted from the Challenger Institute Murdoch Campus, however a mobile training facility also conducts training throughout the State to service the needs of woolgrowers and professional woolclassers in rural areas.
The Centre is set up to meet the needs of a widely-dispersed rural industry and make efficient use of training resources. It offers nationally-recognised training as part of the Agriculture Training Package which is a series of qualifications designed by the agricultural industry at a national level.
A major benefit of the Centre's structure is the flexibility of its learning programs, which allow for the seasonal work patterns of the industry. It means learners can undertake training programs at their own pace, and attend at times when work demand is low.
