The Fishing and Marine Studies area specialises in training for Australia's diverse and lucrative marine and fishing-based industries.
The training programs integrate practical skills with theory to prepare graduates for employment in the commercial fishing, marine tourism, seafood processing, fisheries management and marine service industries.
The Centre has a fleet of training vessels, including the 18m multi-purpose "Maritime Image", which features state-of-the-art navigation equipment and an adaptable deck layout to demonstrate a variety of fishing technologies and research options.
