floristry pathways - trade-level training for the floristry industry
These courses provide trade-level training for the floristry industry.
Certificate II delivers comprehensive floristry training where students participate in a variety of subjects covering the
areas of imaginative art and design, construction methods for floristry design and the retail areas of sales and service to floristry customers.
Graduates from the Certificate III in Floristry will be able to work in the industry with minimum supervision. The course provides training in a wide range of practical skills and supporting knowledge to equip students for employment in many sectors of the floral industry covering areas of technical expertise for themed event designs on and off campus and advanced design skills for specialist work such as wedding flowers.
Certificates II and III are available as traineeships. Trainees attend classes at Challenger Institute one day per week and work at the place of employment for the remainder of the week.
Certificate IV offers the small business component of the course and covers a broad range of varied floristry activities
and applications most of which are complex and non-routine. Leadership and guidance are involved when organising activities of self and others as well as analysing market conditions and contributing to technical solutions.
