7155 Certificate I in Wider Opportunities for Work (WOW)

The 7155 Certificate I in Wider Opportunities for Work has been designed as a preparatory qualification with a focus on the development of work related skills. It is aimed at enhancing the learner’s job-readiness, and offers pathways into further education and training at Certificate II and III levels, as well as potential outcomes in community participation. The qualification may be contextualised and customised to suit different learner target groups and focus areas.

The WOW qualification is an enabling course with the option of a full Certificate I qualification embedded in it. This course includes general education, employability skill development as well as vocational skill development with a specific industry focus depending on the Certificate I qualification selection.

  • Communication for work
  • Career development
  • Technology for work
  • Workplace practice 2
  • Vocational skill development units: Certificate I in Information Technology
  • Operate a personal computer
  • Operate a word processing application
  • Send and retrieve information using web browsers and email
  • Operate a spreadsheet application
  • Operate a presentation package
  • Design organisational documents using computing packages

The full-time course runs 3 days per week during school hours for 17 weeks. Part-time options are available.
