Art and Design
Art and Design courses at Challenger Institute of Technology develop participant’s ability to visualise and develop ideas for their own art work. They learn to discuss the visual arts analytically and to constructively evaluate their work.
There are a variety of courses on offer at Challenger Institute of Technology catering for all levels from beginners to advanced artists with the aim of improving their art practice.
Courses include:
- Visual Art, Contemporary Craft
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts
- Creative Industries
- Contemporary Art, Drawing and Ceramics short courses
Public Art
Public art is one of the subjects included in the Art and Design courses. Students are taught how to develop, manage and partake in a public art project. Challenger Institute students have worked on real-life projects including creating a mural for King Edward Memorial Hospital and a large scale sculpture for the City of Rockingham Waste Education Centre.
Art Exhibition
To conclude each year Art and Design students are invited to participate in the student annual art exhibition. Participants gain insight and experience into the various aspects of preparing and promoting their exhibition. They get the opportunity to show their work to a broader audience and learn the practicalities of selling and marketing their work.
The Next Step
The accredited Art and Design courses provide participants with a wide range of art experience, preparation for employment in semi-skilled work in art, craft and design related fields, and preparation for further study at a tertiary level.
