Vendor Qualifications

In addition to industry-relevant qualifications, the Centre also offers a wide range of product-specific and professional qualifications. Vendor certification is becoming increasingly valuable in the IT industry and the centre is well positioned to offer training to prepare students to gain accreditation.

These Vendor qualifications have been developed by corporate organisations (such as Microsoft, Cisco, Novell, 3 Com etc) and by professional bodies (such as the British Computer Society, the Help Desk Institute or the Institute for the Management of Information Systems).

Vendor qualifications are internationally recognised and are industry or vendor specific.

For example, if employees need training in operating systems, they can study the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist curriculum. They would then be eligible to sit an external examination to gain the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist qualification. The Centre delivers training that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to sit the following vendor qualification examinations:

  • A+ Core Certification – Core Hardware and Operating Systems
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Cisco Essentials of IT
  • Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS)
