
About the Centre
Challenger Institute's Construction Industry Skills Centre provides training in the building and construction trades across the southern metropolitan region at its Campuses in Fremantle, Rockingham and Peel (Mandurah).
Trades include:
- Carpentry and Joinery (Peel and Fremantle)
- Bricklaying and Blocklaying (Rockingham)
- Wall and Ceiling Lining (Peel)
- Plumbing and Gas Fitting (Fremantle)
- Family of Mortar Trades (Rockingham)
- Locksmithing (Fremantle)
The centre is a significant contributor to workforce development with over 600 apprentices enrolling each year in the above programs.
Plumbing and a flexible Builder's Registration course are also offered for tradespeople interested in further studies, and customised short courses are available on request from industry.

The centre is staffed with positive-thinking and highly-motivated lecturers dedicated to delivering a superior standard of industry-relevant training. Our lecturers have substantial industry experience, a wide range of skills, and are qualified workplace trainers and assessors.
