Children's Services

Children’s Services offers certificate level training in child care and diploma level training in children’s services (early childhood education and care) that meets
the licensing requirements for qualified child care workers.

There is a high demand for diploma graduates, who readily find employment. Diploma in Children’s Services (early childhood education and care) graduates may be granted advanced standing in Early Childhood Education degree courses.

To enhance our Institute-based delivery, we have compiled an expansive range of resources to support teaching and learning across all aspects of child care. For the care of 0 to 2 year old children, we have established a ‘virtual’ nursery on campus where students can engage in simulated experiences utilising not only a replicated physical environment but also interact with ‘virtual babies’.

Flexible delivery is available for those already employed in the child care industry.
Our staff understand the demands of the children’s services industry and have ensured our programs for current child-care employees are as flexible as possible.

Flexible Delivery program features include:

• Self-paced learning units: students can start and finish units at times that suit
their needs
• Flexible enrolment: students have access to enrolments throughout the year
• Flexible time commitments: students can study when and where it suits them, but
can still consult with a lecturer if/when needed
